Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Jonathan Winters tells a story 🤠 #jonathanwinters #smothersbrothers #classictv

Jonathan Winters gets the microphone. His storytelling clip was the most watched of the official Smothers Brothers channel's two new uploads, reaching about 24,000 views.

The excerpt comes from The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and the replies make a familiar connection: viewers point to the voices and mannerisms that influenced Robin Williams. Winters was a major inspiration for Williams, so those comparisons have a real comedy lineage behind them. Other commenters single out Winters's voice or remember his humor.

The second upload opens a seasonal corner of the archive. "The Smothers Brothers Get in the Spirit of Halloween | The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour (1967)" revisits the episode aired on October 29, 1967. Tommy and Dick get involved in a séance, while magician Blackstone Jr. performs tricks with assistance from the audience and Tommy. It attracted a much smaller audience than the Winters excerpt, but offers a different side of the variety-show format: comedy with a little stage magic mixed in.

Subscribers were unchanged over the week, while daily viewing is running slightly above the channel's usual pace. Among nearby comedy and talk-show channels, Would I Lie To You? had a particularly busy viewing week; the Smothers archive's activity was more modest.

The biggest daily draw here remains an earlier upload, "Tommy's acting skills need fine tuning 📺 #smothersbrothers #classictv #classiccomedy". Already past half a million views, it is drawing substantially more daily views than either of the new additions.
