Tetris supplies the soundtrack beneath The Lawn Tools' grass

Exploring Under the Lawn

Lawn maintenance has acquired a musical accompaniment: viewers of The Lawn Tools' "Exploring Under the Lawn" keep bringing up the Tetris tune. The singing gets repeated mentions, alongside comparisons to playing Minecraft in real life. For a channel whose most-watched Short is literally titled "Minecraft IRL," that is familiar territory.

"Exploring Under the Lawn" is the week's most-watched new upload, reaching roughly 1.8 million views. It is also bringing in the most daily views across the channel right now. "Last Time Mowing This Lawn," posted the same day, has passed a million too, while "Found Something in my Lawn" gives the underground theme another chapter.

The seven-upload week also included "Doing What the Comments Tell me" and "Fix the Lawn Bare Spot #ToroPartner." The latter is a paid partnership with Toro. Then came the rather less horticultural-sounding "Barndominium, Bench Press, Battlestar Galactica." Not every title needs to stay inside the garden fence.

The channel added about 20,000 subscribers over the week, although daily viewing is running below its usual level. Nearby in the home-and-DIY neighborhood, SB Mowing and Project Farm are drawing above-usual daily audiences. The Lawn Tools' particular signature remains that golf-course ambition at home: Bermuda grass mowed low with a reel mower, with even the ground underneath becoming part of the entertainment.
