Genkai's tournament supplies TeamFourStar with a full parody week

Three new Yu Yu Hakusho uploads accompany a tournament episode that has passed a million views.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Checking Out the Competition #yuyuhakusho #abridgedseries #parodyChecking Out the Competition #yuyuhakusho #abridgedseries #parody

Yusuke has a technique to protect, opponents to deal with and, in TeamFourStar's version, plenty of room for jokes between punches. All three of the channel's new uploads draw on Yu Yu Hakusho, keeping Genkai's tournament at the center of the week.

"Checking Out the Competition #yuyuhakusho #abridgedseries #parody" drew the largest total audience of the new releases, reaching roughly 223,000 views. In the comments, viewers pick up on Kuwabara taking on cars and Kuroda's introduction, while others make connections to TeamFourStar's Ghost Nappa. The jokes have their own extended universe.

"Yusuke Fights the Power #yuyuhakusho #anime #parody" had a slightly bigger opening day and is attracting the most daily views of the channel's uploads right now. Its description bills the encounter as a Lani-Kaiser fight: Nick Landis voices Yusuke, while Scott Frerichs voices tournament contestant Kazemaru. The newest release, "When The Boss Has a Second Phase #yuyuhakusho #abridgedseries #parody," turns to Genkai, Rando and Yusuke, with the description casting Genkai as rather too willing to let the combatants finish each other off.

Behind those shorter installments, "Yu Yu Hakusho Abridged: Genkai Tournament | Toonami Abridged" has passed 1.1 million views and remains a major source of daily viewing. Landis directed and wrote it, Frerichs edited and co-wrote it, and Kayleigh McKee supplies Genkai's voice.

The subscriber count held steady, while daily views across TeamFourStar are above their usual level. Among nearby channels, Legends of Avantris had a particularly busy week and Gigguk a quieter one. For TeamFourStar, the active center of the channel is unmistakably Yusuke's tournament, even with years of DragonBall Z Abridged on the shelf.
