"scrib doon all day" gives Star Wars a Biddy Blas week

Nine uploads also bring Prince Arluu, Darth Maul commentary and a behind-the-scenes visit to a crochet galaxy.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Darth Maul has Dave Filoni explaining his survival, Luke has his first meeting with the droids, and Biddy Blas has a phrase the comment section cannot stop repeating.

"scrib doon all day," tied to Star Wars: Galactic Racer, was the official channel's most-watched new upload, reaching roughly 240,000 views. Viewers are turning the phrase into imaginary film titles and adding it to their personal collections of memorable Star Wars sayings. Others single out the combination of Biddy's character design, personality and voice. It is a character-sized follow-up to the game's launch coverage earlier this month.

Close behind is "Prince Arluu vs. The Bounty Hunter | Star Wars: Visions | Official Clip," whose description places the prince alongside a smuggler and a mysterious woman helping free a village from Imperial control. Those two uploads are also drawing the most views per day across the channel right now.

The week's other pleasures are more behind-the-scenes. Filoni explains how horror influenced Maul's return in The Clone Wars, with hatred underpinning his survival. Jon Favreau's dragonsnake segment points toward a fuller breakdown with Pedro Pascal, while Industrial Light & Magic's artists discuss using new technology to reinterpret familiar scenes in "Behind-The-Scenes Celebration of the Sights and Sounds of a Crochet Galaxy." That crochet feature is the third-busiest upload at present.

Daily viewing across Star Wars is running at more than twice its usual level, although its subscriber count was unchanged over the week. Paramount Pictures and DC drew much larger weekly audiences among nearby studio channels. Here, the distinctive detail is smaller: a Galactic Racer character getting a comment-section vocabulary all his own.

  • Biddy wouldn't have been so instantly popular if it hadn't been for the voice actor. It's a perfect combination of neat design, personality and voice.

  • A lot of people prefer The Scrib Doon Strikes Back, but Return of the Biddy Blas is my favorite.
