LeBron's Lambeau Leap story has Rob Lowe laughing
Sports On Prime pairs the original Packers celebration with James joking that LeRoy Butler gave him advance notice.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 41,440 views a day, 12 times a normal first day on this channel (3,524).
LeBron Knew The First Lambeau Leap Was Coming 😭
LeRoy Butler leaps into the Green Bay crowd, and LeBron James supplies an unexpected footnote: he says he knew the celebration was coming.
Sports On Prime's Short cuts from the archival NFL footage to James telling Rob Lowe and the other guests that Butler had shared his plan before the game. According to James's joking account, an interception would be Butler's cue to jump into the Lambeau stands.
Lowe and the others break into laughter. Paul Rivera adds his own contribution: "I didn't know you was at that game, Bron."
The clip, credited to the NFL, drew about 20,000 views in its first eight hours, already well beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for a Short. The appeal is the contrast between a familiar piece of football history and James casually inserting himself into its backstory.
There is a football wrinkle, too: Butler's original leap in 1993 followed a fumble-return touchdown, not an interception. Reggie White recovered the ball and lateraled it to Butler, who finished the play before heading into the stands.
