Gems on peppers: 'whimsymaxxing' and two boo baskets fill Rachel Louise's week

Seven uploads took aim at autumn overconsumption, and a Lucky Scoop Shop short went up last and moved fastest.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

The most HATED trend of 2026...The most HATED trend of 2026...

Rachel Louise's channel promises to investigate internet trends so you don't have to, and this week she picked one that had already made plenty of people cross: "whimsymaxxing," the habit of sticking plastic gems on just about everything. She covered it twice under the same title, "The most HATED trend of 2026...": once as a short, which became the week's most watched upload, and once as a full video. The longer version asks whether the sparkle is harmless fun or pure waste, makes a case for telling criticism apart from hate, and argues that brands deserve more of the blame than the influencers who join in.

The short's comment section stays on the gems. Viewers keep coming back to the bejeweled peppers and to a plastic surgeon who apparently joined in, and many of them argue the trend has nothing to do with real whimsy. One reaches for Gravity Falls: everyone wants to be Mabel, the comment says, and ends up as Pacifica.

The rest of the week belonged to autumn. Boo baskets came up twice, first a September 30 short on what one would cost and then "The REAL cost of 'boo baskets'...", which drew more than a quarter of a million views on its first day. A de-influencing list of fall buys sat between them.

The newest upload is the quickest of all. "POV: You get a job at the Lucky Scoop Shop...", a look inside the mystery-scoop shopping craze, passed a quarter of a million views in its first ten hours.

The channel as a whole kept close to its usual pace, adding about 5,000 subscribers and well over eight million views. Among reaction and commentary channels of similar size, only Austin Sweatt added more views, while Sarah Z and Donna had calmer weeks.
