An Amazon toolbox, a Mighty Bar and a garage beer: You Betcha's carry week

The Midwest comedy crew spent six uploads on pocket gadgets and everyday skits, and the channel ran well above its usual daily pace.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Among the sketch channels around its size, You Betcha sits right in the middle this week, while dinocornel and INAFISH are the ones having the really big days. That middle is still a lively place: the channel is drawing well above its usual daily views, and six new uploads did most of the work.

Three of them circle one idea, the "every day carry" kit. "I Bought 'Every Day Carry' Tools from Amazon So You Don't Have To" opened the week and has passed a million views. A side-by-side of a $130 light against a phone flashlight followed, and then "Testing The Mighty Bar," a short look at a small pocket pry tool, which is now pulling in more views each day than anything else on the channel.

The Amazon video's comment section became a job fair. Night-shift gas well operators, mechanics, pest control workers, a farmer and an aircraft mechanic all chimed in about the flashlight they carry and what it survives. Others talked about the folding shovel, which several recognize as the Army's old entrenching tool, and one viewer noticed that Miles never blurred his keys on camera.

The rest of the week went back to the skits the channel's about text promises, a love of Busch Light, ranch and all things Midwest: "Kids vs No Kids," "Contractors Returning Calls," which has started quickly, and, eleven hours old, "Men The Second They Start Drinking in The Garage." The garage, it seems, was always going to come up.

What viewers say

  • The best EDC pen is usually branded with a local credit union's name and came free from the coffee cup on the counter of said union.
  • I operate natural gas wells at night. I bought a $65.00 O light head lamp. I've used it 5 nights a week for 2 years. A 1 hour charge lasts a 12 hour shift. It's still going.
