Andrew Bolt changes the subject halfway through: after inviting Barnaby Joyce to criticize Anthony Albanese's credibility, he asks about One Nation's position on a proposed European Union trade agreement and whether Gina Rinehart has influenced it.
That turn gives News24's most watched new upload of the week something beyond its political-attack title. Joyce, the former deputy prime minister now representing One Nation, argues for protecting agricultural sectors including beef and reiterates the party's opposition to the Paris Agreement. Near the end, he says plainly: "I have not spoken to Gina Rinehart about the European trade agreement."
The interview had drawn roughly 57,000 views, narrowly more than the channel's report announcing Patrick Stewart's death. The Stewart report, however, is currently drawing views fastest, with the Joyce interview and Mark Nicholson's challenge to Victorian Opposition leader Jess Wilson also among the busiest uploads.
News24 published 100 videos across the week. The selection ranged from Australian party politics to Samara Gill's American political commentary and Ami Horowitz's interpretation of Israel's election results.
Subscribers increased modestly over seven days, although the channel's current daily viewing pace is well below its usual level. Its weekly views gain was the largest among the nearby broadcasters, a group including DW News, CBS News and Forbes Breaking News. For News24, the week's most watched new interview paired a familiar attack on the prime minister with a more specific question about how One Nation makes trade policy.
