Onions in the socks: Nataliia's sick-day remedies pass a million views

Her short on what she does first when her child is sick drew a comment section full of folk-remedy explainers, vampire jokes and calls for Louisayy.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

On an ordinary day, Nataliia's channel of mom tips, home hacks and Amazon finds brings in around two million views. The past few days ran cooler than that, at closer to 1.4 million a day, yet one short still went further than anything else she posted.

"First things I do when my child is sick" went up on Friday and passed a million views within three days. Its tags point to flu season and sick kids, and the comments make clear which steps people noticed: onions tucked into socks, and butter. One viewer went off and looked both up, explaining that each is an old folk remedy, while others are still asking someone to explain the butter. A teenager writes that their own mom still does the onion trick, someone else hears garlic and thinks of vampires, and a whole thread keeps calling for Louisayy, the commentator viewers seem certain should react to it. A viewer from the Philippines remembers a mother who did much the same.

The rest of the week was home territory. A guest bathroom cleaning hack is past 300,000 views, a chocolate recipe stayed small, and a home smell hack posted on Sunday is only just getting started. Meanwhile a nine-day-old video of first-time mom tips, already above five million views, is still pulling in a steady crowd.

Among the DIY and home channels close to her size, Quickdvice had the heaviest week, and eFIXX ran about twice its usual pace. Nataliia keeps adding about two thousand subscribers a day, on a channel now at 837,000.
