- 1:40Mason remembers first encountering the film through a fight scene looping on a comic-con CRT television.
- 5:24James explores rotoscoping and choreography input from martial artists Kazuyoshi Ishii and Andy Hug.
- 6:37Bryan Cranston supplied Fei Long's English-dub voice before Malcolm in the Middle and Breaking Bad.
- 9:10The hosts single out Chun-Li's encounter with Vega for its intensity and fight choreography.
- 9:56An interactive-movie tie-in brought the animated film to PlayStation and 3DO.
Before Malcolm in the Middle and Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston lent his voice to Fei Long. That casting discovery is one of the detours in Mr Sunday Movies' only new upload this week, "Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie - Caravan of Garbage," which has reached roughly 309,000 views.
James and Nick Mason set the anime alongside the same year's Jean-Claude Van Damme adaptation, but Mason brings a more personal introduction: he remembers encountering the animated film at a comic convention, where Chun-Li's fight scene was playing on a CRT television. They return to that encounter with Vega to appreciate its choreography, then explore the martial-arts input behind the animation and an obscure interactive-movie game adaptation.
The comments have their own double bill: Cranston recognition and childhood movie memories. One viewer recalls asking their grandmother for the live-action Street Fighter and receiving the animated version instead, a mistaken purchase they remember fondly. Others pick up the hosts' pronunciation jokes, including Ryu's temporary transformation into Ryan.
The new review is the channel's busiest video right now. "Blade Runner 2049 - Caravan of Garbage" and "Did we just get Surf Dracula-ed? - Lanterns Review" are also drawing daily views, keeping replicants and Green Lanterns in the conversation alongside the fighters.
Across the channel, the week brought roughly 1.4 million views, with subscribers unchanged. Daily viewing is currently below its usual level. Among nearby movie-commentary channels, RedLetterMedia had a larger viewing week, while Fandom Entertainment was quieter. For Mr Sunday Movies, the next review previewed in this episode stays with the franchise: Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
