Emotions run high during Rodney Hinton, Jr. murder trial
Courtroom reporting drew the biggest audience among LOCAL 12's fifteen new uploads. “Emotions run high during Rodney Hinton, Jr. murder trial” reached roughly 7,000 views, with a second continuing-coverage video also among the channel's most active titles.
Hinton has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in the case concerning deputy Larry Henderson's death in May 2025. LOCAL 12 describes prosecutors as seeking to establish that Hinton was sane at the time of the killing. The station also reported on a contempt-of-court ruling involving recordings of prospective jurors.
Across the channel, weekly views rose by about 692,000, while the subscriber count remained unchanged. Daily viewing is now well below its usual pace. Nearby local-news channels offer mixed context: CBS Boston added subscribers and drew substantial weekly viewing, while FOX6 Milwaukee also has a slower-than-usual daily audience.
Away from the courtroom, LOCAL 12 covered a bald eagle's release after months of rehabilitation. Found with a broken wing at Cincinnati's Lunken Airport, the bird returned to the wild with help from Milford-based Raptor Inc.
