Cyclists ignore ban on Khan's vehicle-free Oxford Street
LBC's street footage contrasts the mayor's promise with marshals repeatedly trying to stop riders passing through the pedestrianized stretch.

Sadiq Khan's dream shattered by cyclists
LBC puts Sadiq Khan's promise of a traffic-free Oxford Street beside footage of the problem facing staff on the ground: cyclists who keep pedaling past their instructions to stop.
The London mayor says a kilometer of the shopping street will have no traffic at all. That includes bicycles. But in the broadcaster's Short, Lime bike riders and other cyclists continue through the pedestrianized stretch, despite bollards, warning signs and street staff calling out to them.
The clip, titled "Sadiq Khan's dream shattered by cyclists", reached roughly 380,000 views in its first 12 hours, an unusually fast start for an LBC Short. Its comment section was already more than four times as busy as the channel's usual full first day.
Much of that discussion concerns enforcement: whether instructions and barriers can work without stronger intervention, and whether rental-bike apps could help prevent riding through the area. Those are viewers' proposals, not measures announced in the report.
The title presents the scenes as a setback for Khan's plan. What the footage specifically shows is a practical challenge on the newly restricted stretch: staff repeatedly telling riders they cannot cycle there, while bicycles continue past.
