Karu's sports-anime detour is getting the most attention on the channel, six months after it arrived. “I Found 3 Sports Anime that Completely Lost the Plot” brings together Birdie Wing, Turkey and Sk8: golf, bowling and skateboarding, with a title that suggests the scorecards are only part of the attraction.

Nothing new went up this week, but the catalog added roughly 770,000 views. That was the largest weekly gain among karu's nearby anime, comics and tabletop peers. The channel also gained about 1,000 subscribers, although daily viewing is currently running well below its usual pace. Elsewhere in that group, Battle Report - Games Night is drawing about twice its typical daily views.

The sports trio isn't the only older upload finding an audience. “When Modern Anime Meets Old School Writing,” centered on Daemons of the Shadow Realm, is another active title. September's “I Counted EVERY Cigarette in This Smoking Anime” follows close behind, pairing Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You with Chainsmoker Cat. For a channel whose stated project is “expanding my anime library,” that's a nicely specific assortment: sporting excess, supernatural storytelling and an unusually literal counting exercise.
