"Landing Lima Peru": a short approach, and a pilot the comments keep saluting
Just Planes posted the Lima clip on the same day as its first Beijing Daxing landing, and four days later the Peruvian one is the clip drawing the crowd.
Why this story? The video is running at 205,393 views a day, 11 times its usual pace (18,734).
Landing Lima Peru
On its first day, "Landing Lima Peru" did what most Just Planes clips do: it drew a steady, modest crowd of under 20,000 views. Four days on, it has passed a quarter of a million and is pulling in viewers about eleven times faster than a clip here usually manages at this age.
The video comes with almost no explanation. Its description is a single credit to the channel @COCKPIT3, and the title says the rest: a landing in Peru's capital, where the airport is Jorge Chávez International, out on the coast in Callao.
The comment section is small but very international. Viewers write in Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Tamil and English, and most of them talk about the pilot rather than the plane. Several take the captain to be a woman and say how much they like seeing that. Others simply admire the touchdown, which one viewer compares to butter.
Lima was not the plan for the week. Just Planes, which says it has filmed more than 500 full cockpit films with 370 airlines, posted its first landing at Beijing Daxing that same day, part of its fourth program with Royal Air Maroc, this time on the 787-9. Ethiopian and Royal Air Maroc Dreamliner clips followed. Even so, the shortest title of the lot is the one carrying the channel, and its daily views are running well above their usual level.
