On an ordinary day, JS.COMPARISON pulls in views by the millions. Lately the days have been calmer, closer to a quarter of that usual pace. Even so, the football edits channel had plenty to show: fifteen new Shorts in seven days and about 12,000 new subscribers.
The standout is "valverde cooking.", a quick tribute to Real Madrid's Uruguayan midfielder. In football slang, "cooking" means running the show, and Valverde's thunderous long-range shooting is exactly what the format is made for. The edit passed a million views in under a week and is still moving. Its comment section is a mix of Spanish, English and Arabic: one viewer says his shots hit harder than Roberto Carlos's, a goalkeeper remembers how it feels to dive for one and watch it go in, and several just want to know the name of the music.
The newest upload, "Players Getting Cooking.", turns the same idea on a wider cast, and within a day it was already gathering views a little faster than the Valverde clip. Cristiano Ronaldo filled much of the rest of the shelf, from a legendary goal to a reel of acrobatic finishes. That should not surprise anyone who remembers his overhead kick in Turin.
Among the football channels nearest its size, JS.COMPARISON gained more views this week than any of them. GOAL's FanZone also had a big week, and George Benson's Chelsea channel ran well ahead of its usual pace. The channel's about text still sets a goal of 150,000 subscribers. It is now well past twice that.
