A green-ish birthday dessert for her sister leads Jeanelle's table
Three new videos went up, from a talk about cooking with love to a lemonade stand found on the road.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The green-ish dessert my sister wanted for her birthday
Jeanelleats is close to two billion lifetime views, with a little under 90 million to go, and almost two million subscribers. That is a big audience for a channel whose about text is mostly a promise: Filipino food at the foundation, the whole world on the menu, and no patience for arguments about what counts as "authentic."
Three new videos went up. The busiest is the most personal. "The green-ish dessert my sister wanted for her birthday" passed 180,000 views in five days, and its title leaves the dish a small mystery. Green-ish could point to plenty of Filipino sweets, from ube's purple cousins to pandan and buko, but the video keeps its secret until you press play.
A day earlier came "What “Cooking With Love” really means," a quieter, more reflective title that has passed 100,000 views. It fits the channel's own philosophy closely: good intentions first, then flavor.
The newest, "We found a lemonade stand!!", is barely a day old and is already gathering views at about twice the daily pace of the cooking-with-love video.
Among cooking channels of a similar size, Chef Nick is the one having the big stretch, running well above his usual daily pace. Jeanelle sits fourth by subscribers in that small group, just ahead of Notorious Foodie, with her sister's birthday dessert doing most of the work.
