Princess Peach's pink does not stay pink for long. As Jasmin and James move through their synchronized routine, their costumes flicker through green, yellow, blue and purple, with James switching between Mario and Luigi looks.

Above them, digitally cloned body parts echo the choreography. The effects give the couple extra dance partners without adding anyone else to the room, before they dance out of frame.

The Short reached about 39,000 views in 13 hours, putting it well ahead of this channel's usual opening pace. Three other uploads from the same day are also making unusually fast starts, so the Mario-themed routine is not the only one drawing attention.

There is a second game tucked into the video: an on-screen prompt asks viewers to turn their battery percentage into an imaginary age. Several comments answer with a number rather than discussing the dancing.

For Jasmin and James, the choreography is more than a costume vehicle. They say they were professional dancers before social media, and that dance is how they met and fell in love.
