Jack Skellington gives Ivan Mars' movie theories a seasonal turn

Three new Shorts move between The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline and an Avengers spotting game.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

How did Halloween Town's residents become the characters we know? That question has viewers building elaborate backstories beneath Ivan Mars' most-watched new Short, with Jack Skellington, Sally and Oogie Boogie supplying the raw material.

The movie-clips and commentary channel posted three Shorts, and its Disney-tagged Halloween theory drew roughly 272,000 views. The conversation is as much a debate about interpretation as a hunt for clues: some commenters propose connections between the characters' appearances and imagined past lives, while others question those readings or point toward additional stories about Sally. These are audience theories, not established explanations from the film.

It's a change from the all-Marvel slate in our previous note. Coraline supplies another new mystery, while "Did you see him? 😳😳😳 #avengers #marvel #shorts" brings the channel back to superhero spotting. That Avengers upload is currently drawing views faster than either of the week's other releases.

Across the channel, daily viewing is a little below its usual pace, and subscribers were unchanged over seven days. Nearby movie channels have had different rhythms: Scene Slice and Jeremy Jahns are drawing substantially busier-than-usual daily audiences, while StudioBinder is quieter than usual.

Ivan's strongest current momentum, though, belongs to an older Marvel question. The Short asking whether a 1970 song predicted Iron Man becoming Doctor Doom has reached about 6.5 million views and remains the channel's busiest video by daily viewing.
