Lanterns Episode 8 preview nears a million and a half views
Hal Jordan and John Stewart's series filled most of HBO Max's fifteen uploads, with a true-crime trailer slipped in between.

Among the bigger TV and streaming channels, nearly everyone ran below their usual pace, from Peacock and the Oscars to Bravo and ABC. HBO Max sits seventh of nine by subscribers in that group. Its week belonged almost entirely to one show.
That show is Lanterns, DC Studios' series about Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart, played by Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre. Fifteen videos went up, and the Episode 8 Preview is doing nearly all the heavy lifting. It drew over a million views in its first day and has kept climbing since. The Inside Episode 7 featurette and the official podcast's seventh episode, titled "The Jordan Boys' Legacy," traveled more modestly. So did a pair of shorts, one of them a playful zodiac post tagged with Nathan Fillion's name.
The one upload that broke from the green glow was the official trailer for Pet Cemetery Murders. Two days in, it is the channel's second most active video, behind only the Lanterns preview. The subscriber count, meanwhile, held level at 3.19 million.
