Fulham players tackle football's familiar question: Messi or Ronaldo?

Messi or Ronaldo? 🐐

Ipswich preparation has company on Fulham's channel: a question that needs no fixture list. The club asked its players to choose between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and the resulting Short drew about 60,000 views in its first 17 hours, already far beyond its usual first-day audience for the format.

The interesting wrinkle is not simply which name gets picked. Viewers are discussing whether calling someone the better footballer means they must also be your favorite. Several comments pick up on that distinction, making room for a preference for Ronaldo alongside a higher assessment of Messi. Others wonder why football is still returning to this question, or ask for the younger team's answers next.

The comment section is already more than ten times as busy as a usual full first day for a Fulham Short. Alongside it, the club has posted gym and behind-the-scenes footage from Motspur Park and Álvaro Arbeloa's press conference ahead of Saturday's Ipswich match. One upload is about the immediate assignment; the other asks players to make a much less temporary choice.
