An Amazon outboard gives FortNine's "Portnine" crowd something to discuss
The retailer's boating review is its only new upload, and viewers are making a case for more niche nautical projects.

$575 Amazon Outboard 2-Stroke Review
How much boat content can a motorcycle audience take? Under FortNine's new outboard review, viewers are asking for more, with several adopting "Portnine" as the boating episodes' unofficial name.
"Amazon 2-stroke Outboard Review" was the Canadian powersports retailer's only upload this week, reaching roughly 106,000 views in its opening 13 hours. The description supplies a dry verdict: the motor is loud, slow and dangerous. It also names 45 as a companion for the experiment, which it bills as their worst idea yet.
The conversation beneath it goes beyond this particular engine. Viewers make a case for unusual boating subjects rather than familiar product reviews, while one jokes that an extra pull-cord assembly in the box hardly inspires confidence about easy starting. Another offers a speed upgrade that requires no mechanical work: faster playback.
The outboard now accounts for the strongest daily momentum among FortNine's videos. Behind it, "Full Throttle on the Autobahn - Why it Feels Surprisingly Slow," directed and edited by Edwin El Bainou, continues drawing views, followed by "The Reality of an Electric Motorcycle Road Trip." Roads haven't disappeared from the picture just because a boat has arrived.
FortNine added about 10,000 subscribers over the week, although daily viewing is currently below its usual pace. Its weekly view gain was almost identical to McLaren's. For this particular upload, though, the more distinctive company is in the comments: people who say they aren't boat people, turning up for "Portnine" anyway.
