Rubio in Lisbon, Zakharova in Moscow and a march in Madrid on DWS News

Fifteen live feeds went up in seven days, from Beijing's daily briefing to the Swedish Academy's Nobel announcement in Stockholm.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Marco Rubio's stop in Lisbon is the newest of the fifteen live streams DWS News put up this week. The US Secretary of State sat down with Portugal's Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, then with Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel, and the schedule in the description ends with a joint press conference. It is the channel's whole method in one feed: diplomacy, uncut, with the camera pointed at the room.

The rest of the week read like a tour of foreign ministries and city streets. Maria Zakharova held her weekly briefing in Moscow, and Beijing's foreign ministry held its daily one. The Swedish Academy announced the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature from Stockholm. In Paris, high school students kept up their blockades as teachers and university students joined a wider movement. In Madrid, people marched from a housing protest camp toward the former home of María del Carmen Abascal, known as Maricarmen, who died on October 7 at 87, two weeks after she was evicted from her longtime home. Her eviction had already set off protests across Spain over housing.

The new feeds opened modestly, as live news usually does here, with the Beijing briefing and the Madrid march moving fastest. Yet the channel as a whole ran well above its usual pace and gathered more than two million views over the week, along with about 2,000 new subscribers. It is not clear which corner of the shelf drew the extra crowd.

Among the news channels nearest its size, Page Six had the biggest week, while The Root and The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age both ran far past their usual days. Juno News and New York Times Events were quieter. DWS News landed third in views gained, with ET Now World just ahead of it.
