The Mist rolls into Dead Meat's busy horror week
A full Frank Darabont movie joins a Fresh Meat red carpet and a Halloween 4 podcast with the Boulet Brothers.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The Mist | FULL MOVIE
Dead Meat's latest viewing assignment requires more than a Kill Count: "The Mist | FULL MOVIE" puts Frank Darabont's entire horror film on the channel. Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, Laurie Holden, Andre Braugher and Toby Jones star in the supermarket siege, where the people sheltering inside become as important as the creatures outside.
It is the channel's busiest upload by daily views right now, arriving near the end of a thirteen-upload week. A clip celebrating the original Carrie's famous jump scare is also among the videos drawing the most attention at the moment.
For the week's biggest new release overall, though, it is back to "Obsession (2026) KILL COUNT," which has reached about 2.3 million views. Its comments remain an extended discussion of the movie's wish mechanics: viewers debate whether Nikki's behavior reflects resistance to the wish or Bear's own expectations. That is a different kind of counting, with everyone checking the rules.
Elsewhere, the Boulet Brothers joined the podcast for "Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers | Dead Meat Podcast Ep.282 w/ Boulet Brothers." Their subject brings Michael back after Halloween III's standalone detour. The channel also went live from the Fresh Meat premiere's red carpet and posted a horror-news update covering a MatPat movie and In A Violent Nature 2.
Subscribers increased over the week, alongside roughly nine million views. That weekly viewing total was larger than Corridor Crew's and New Rockstars', while The Office had an especially busy week. Dead Meat's own daily viewing has since slowed well below its usual level, even as The Mist gives the upload shelf a feature-length addition.

@malcolm.kelnerSee it on YouTubeThis movie is a prime example of "you don't need to tell a wholly original story, just a good one".

Bear just pulling the duct taped door open is kind of the perfect example of his mindset throughout the movie. Something is clearly wrong, but he’d rather just keep pretending like everything is normal
@rjai5003See it on YouTubei just chalked up nikki's weird movements and scary behaviour to real nikki struggling against wish nikki at pivotal moments
@miasma1718See it on YouTube18:06 Nikki stands still all day because Bear says “No more watching me while I sleep… and no more moving weird” right before he leaves.
@michaeljweaver1See it on YouTubeI saw someone point out that when Bear goes to Ian with the One Wish Willow, he doesn’t ask Ian to wish for everything to go back to normal or cancel out Bear’s wish, but instead to wish that Bear never made a wish in the first place so he could try again.
@oliviacrews1485See it on YouTubeWhat got me about Obsession is that it's not a Monkey's Paw.
It's not the item that is flawed, it's the wish. A regular basic wish like "I wish for a million dollars" would just give them a million dollars with no trick.
It just help show how Bear really is the bad guy.@CyberChampSee it on YouTube
