Nylander, Malkin, Kane: the NHL season opens on DAZN SPORT
Hockey shorts filled the week's uploads, while three thirteen-day-old Rocket League videos kept drawing the crowd.
DAZN SPORTStory of Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Take a bow, Igor Shesterkin 👏 | #NHL
Hockey is back, and DAZN SPORT marked it with a run of quick clips. Nine uploads went up this week, most of them NHL moments from the first nights of the 2026-27 season: William Nylander scoring early for Toronto, a Maple Leafs win over the New York Islanders, Evgeni Malkin's snipe, Patrick Kane looking, in the title's words, like he never left, and a bow for Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin.
Those shorts stayed small, each settling around a thousand views. The Shesterkin clip went furthest. A Rocket League piece from the RLCS World Championship at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, about a superfan Michelin brought onto the main stage, sat close behind.
The real energy is still in older Rocket League videos, as we reported here. Three uploads from thirteen days ago keep pulling: building the perfect player, a blind ranking of pros, and the question of which players match Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappé, Kane and Haaland. Each is near or just under a hundred thousand views, and together they keep the channel running several times above its usual daily pace.
The subscriber count held steady. Among the TV networks and streaming channels of similar size, Friends and Yellowstone Universe had the busiest weeks, while DAZN SPORT stayed in a quieter stretch for its size. On an ordinary week, a hockey opening would be the headline, but here it is the esports that carries the channel.
