Meghan, Malala and an apology Dan Wootton's Short says is not coming
The same royal story also went out as a longer After Show segment, and the Short's comments keep returning to a restaurant clip of Meghan with Malala Yousafzai.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 192,238 views a day, 6.9 times a normal first day on this channel (28,013).
Meghan Markle REFUSES to say sorry to Prince William & Catherine amid new Malala Yousafzai PR stunt
Two stories share one title on Dan Wootton Outspoken's newest royal Short. In the first, Meghan Markle "REFUSES" to say sorry to Prince William and Catherine. In the second, the channel calls an appearance with Malala Yousafzai a "PR stunt". Both claims belong to the title. In its first 12 hours the clip passed 130,000 views, several times what a Short here usually gathers in a whole day.
Malala needs little introduction: she survived a Taliban attack as a schoolgirl in Pakistan and went on to become the world's best-known campaigner for girls' education. That is the name Wootton's Short sets beside the Sussexes.
The channel also posted the same subject as a longer segment from its Uncancelled After Show. The description bills it as royal news with "YouTube sensation P-Dina", and it drew almost as many views as the Short.
Under the Short, the comments were already well past a usual first day's count by the halfway mark. Many of them pick apart a restaurant clip of Meghan sitting with Malala and ask who filmed it. Others sound simply puzzled. Several viewers write that they had understood, only days before, that an apology was on the table.
A day earlier, as we reported here, a royal Short about Meghan and a jar of jam ran ahead of Wootton's live show. This time the live show, which opened on protests over migration, held on to the larger crowd.
