ALPHA DRIVE ONE Answer Your Calls: Freak Alarms, First Dates, Twerking | Phone A Fangirl
"ALPHA DRIVE ONE Answer Your Calls: Freak Alarms, First Dates, Twerking | Phone A Fangirl" is the newest episode of BuzzFeed Celeb's fan-call podcast, and it is the one carrying the channel. Posted on September 28, it passed 150,000 views in three days, and nothing else from the week comes close.
The chapters tell you the mood. The K-pop boy group take questions on dream first dates and pickup lines, rank each other's cooking, hand out English names, debate who they would least want dating a sister, and finally explain the freak alarm of the title. There is a peek at "Fragile Beast," talk of favorite songs from a new album, and a moment where Leo teaches the room a Brazilian dance.
It was a ten-upload week, and the rest kept to a gentler pace. H.E.R., Liza Soberano and Dave Franco took a personality quiz to find out which characters from their animated film "Forgotten Island" they really are, with questions about karaoke songs and which sidekick they would follow through Nakali. A short spun off from it, framed as an Emperor's New Groove presentation about a film made without a finished script, found a smaller crowd. A newer short tagged with Eric Nam and the VMAs has made a quick start of its own.
The older video still pulling hardest is Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman's co-star test for "The Love Hypothesis," ten days old and closing on 400,000 views, with chapters on dating icks, love languages and British slang.
Among the TV and streaming channels grouped with it, BuzzFeed Celeb is second by subscribers. The big weeks belong to Peacock, the Oscars and Bravo, all running well above their usual pace.
