Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Britney Spears - Overprotected (Live From Las Vegas)

Britney Spears has the stage to herself before the reinforcements arrive. In "Britney Spears - Overprotected (Live From Las Vegas)," she moves beneath sweeping green lasers in a metallic catsuit, with overhead screens supplying the visuals. Only well into the performance do masked dancers rise through trapdoors to join her choreography.

The archival concert clip was BritneySpearsVEVO's only upload this week, collecting roughly 364,000 views. It gives the song a different setting after the Darkchild remix's HD upload, which we covered earlier this month: this time the emphasis is on Spears working an arena stage, then heading down the extended catwalk toward the crowd. The description dates the performance to 2001, the year "Overprotected" appeared on her album Britney.

Viewers are picking up on that opening stretch without dancers. Another recurring subject is the concert itself, with requests for a full-show release and a higher-resolution remaster. Those are audience wishes, not an announced release plan.

The live "Overprotected" upload is currently attracting the most daily views among the channel's highlighted videos. "Britney Spears - I'm a Slave 4 U (Live From Las Vegas)" is approaching a million views, while the Darkchild remix continues to draw viewers too.

Across the channel, the week brought nearly 18 million views and an unchanged subscriber count. Daily viewing is below its usual pace, though its weekly view gain remains substantial among nearby music channels: BBC Music had a larger week, while GRM Daily and KEXP are currently running above their own usual daily levels. For BritneySpearsVEVO, the fresh addition is another piece of the Las Vegas concert taking its place beside the familiar music videos.

On the stage, all alone, not a single dancer or band mate, in a room full of people, with minimal visual or fancy props and she still commands the stage. Nobody has her presence. She was the entire show. Just her. We will never see a pop star like her again.
