Asked why he chose an undefeated opponent rather than an easier route back, Canelo Álvarez gives a brief answer: "Because I don't believe in shortcuts."
That exchange comes in the press conference replay opening Seconds Out's official weigh-in broadcast from Riyadh. Canelo is challenging Christian Mbilli for the WBC super-middleweight title, but he hasn't adopted a challenger's view of himself. "I'm the challenge now. But guess what? Always in my mind, I'm the champion."
The broadcast reached roughly 39,000 views in eight hours, a much faster start than Seconds Out usually sees for its longer coverage. Separate uploads of the full weigh-in and a short final face-off clip also drew unusually fast audiences for their respective formats.
For Canelo, the bout is a return following his defeat to Terence Crawford in September 2025. Mbilli arrives unbeaten, making the first defence of his full WBC title against a former champion whose experience stretches across weight divisions.
Mbilli's own message is less reflective: "I'm ready to shock the world." Asked how he intends to knock Canelo out, he promises surprises rather than explaining his plan.
For anyone coming specifically for the weigh-in face-off, that footage arrives around eighteen minutes into the broadcast. Kate Scott then introduces Chris Mannix and Malik Scott for the DAZN studio discussion, shifting from the fighters' declarations to an assessment of the matchup.
