Sculpted walnut finds an Etsy buyer on Blacktail Studio Uncut
Cam says the pair of side tables sold within eight days, without promotion through his social channels.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Building From Raw Wood
Blacktail Studio Uncut's Cam gives raw walnut a curved silhouette, then asks it to sell on its own merits. In "Building From Raw Wood," his only upload of the week, the project is as much a small business experiment as a carving demonstration.
An angle grinder does the rough shaping of the legs and bases. Indoors, Cam switches to a spokeshave, sounding pleasantly surprised by how well the hand tool handles the curves. Sanding, filling small imperfections and applying finish come before the circular tops go on. The result is a pair of sculpted side tables, which he says sold for $1,200 through a separate Etsy account, without a push from his established audience.
The comments have their own practical agenda. Viewers ask for a business-tips video and wonder about wood splitting or checking. Several also question the assumption that most people already own an angle grinder. Apparently, the workshop starter kit is not universally agreed upon.
The upload has reached roughly 168,000 views and is currently the channel's busiest video. "$70,000 for a table?" and the much older "Monster table" are also drawing daily viewing, keeping furniture firmly at the center of the channel's momentum.
Subscribers were unchanged over the week, and daily views are running below their usual level. Among nearby DIY and home channels, Gabie Vigneault and 5MadMovieMakers drew larger weekly audiences, while Blacktail Studio Uncut had a busier viewing week than John Malecki and Evan and Katelyn. Here, the fresh addition was a compact project with a buyer at the end of it.

Anyone else think that the section of tree at the beginning was going to be the table top and the table was going to be the leg?
