Three new flagships, one camera test: Ben Schmanke's phone shootout

The iPhone 18 Pro, Galaxy S26 Ultra and Pixel 11 Pro go lens to lens, from a hidden portrait setting to a manual aperture in the dark.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

A week old and close to 350,000 views, the big camera comparison is doing what Ben Schmanke's flagship tests tend to do in phone season: carrying the channel. The iPhone 18 Pro, Galaxy S26 Ultra and Pixel 11 Pro are put through photos, zoom, low light, slow motion and timelapse, with a stop for the new manual camera control on the iPhone.

The main video also fed a handful of smaller ones. A max zoom test lines up the iPhone's 40X against 100X from Samsung and 120X from Google. A short explainer takes on why iPhone portraits look so tightly cropped, and the description promises a workaround for wider shots. A third asks which phone got the moon right, a question that has followed phone zoom for years.

Then the week turned into the garage. Sixteen balls met three Ryobi leaf blowers, and a pair of $5 scissors went up against a $59 power cutter. The cutter video went up only hours ago and is already moving faster than the blower one. Two family-and-wheels videos from earlier in the month are still drawing well too: a Cyberquad made twice as fast for $200, and a ride through scooters priced from $200 to $15,000.

Among the tech channels closest in size, Gamers Nexus is the one having the big stretch, running well above its usual pace, and Jonathan Morrison is busier than normal as well. ThioJoe and Bitwit are quieter.
