Mod guitar, a Townshend Rickenbacker and The Molotovs fill Andy Guitar's week

Nine uploads ran from a two-chord Love Me Do lesson to T-Bone Walker's 1949 Gibson, the one with a bullet hole through it.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Among music lesson and instrument channels, Andy Guitar is the biggest by subscribers, first of nine, and his channel is running well above its usual daily pace right now. That fits a week in which he seemed to have one band on his mind: The Molotovs.

He met their guitarist Matt at soundcheck for a close look at his rig, a rare Rickenbacker and a 1966 Guild Starfire among it. A day-old short about a Rickenbacker 12-string that, the description says, Pete Townshend gave the band is now the quickest thing on the channel. Right behind it sits "60 Years of MOD Guitar – The Riffs, Songs & Sounds That Changed Britain," a tour from The Kinks' You Really Got Me and The Who's I Can't Explain through The Jam and Britpop, ending with The Molotovs. The 12-string explainer, built on Hotel California and Stairway to Heaven, has the biggest total of the week.

The lessons kept coming too: a 12-bar blues starter using Clapton's Before You Accuse Me from Unplugged and Sweet Home Chicago, plus Love Me Do on just E and A. And then there was the detour to Denmark Street, where he played T-Bone Walker's 1949 Gibson, a guitar that, the video explains, took a bullet on stage.
