Ali Siddiq's Atlanta showgoers share the stories behind their seats
His arena thank-you prompts memories of first comedy shows, flights to Atlanta and a sister introduced to his storytelling.
Why this story? The video drew 520 comments in its first day, 12 times a normal first day on this channel (45).
ATL‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ This is why I Love You because yall Love me where The Streets and Upper Crust meet
One attendee had never been to a comedy show before. Another couple traveled from Milwaukee. Beneath Ali Siddiq's Atlanta thank-you video, people are telling him how they came to be in those seats.
The Short drew about 500 comments in its first day, more than ten times his usual first-day response. Views were ordinary for his channel; the conversation was not. Alongside birthday wishes are little accounts of planning, persuading a partner and bringing someone new to stand-up.
One viewer says they had resolved to attend whenever Siddiq returned to Atlanta, and brought a sister who doesn't usually listen to comedians. Another describes showing his wife clips before their Milwaukee-Atlanta trip. A third says they deliberately booked a flight for the birthday-eve performance.
The video gives those memories a setting. Siddiq begins in his car, thanking Atlanta, before cutting to his entrance into the packed arena. Later, an announcer leads the crowd in "Happy Birthday" as phone lights shine across the stands. A singer joins him onstage, and Siddiq puts his hand on his chest.
There is also a keepsake from the Atlanta Hawks: a customized jersey bearing his name. "I'mma put up some numbers for y'all, 'cause y'all put up some numbers for me," he says.

I’ve never been to a comedy show before but decided from last year that any day you came back to ATL I would be there and it happened and I am so glad I attended. You are a great Story teller Ali Siddiq. Keep it up.
I brought my sister who doesn’t really listen to comedians and she really enjoyed it as well. 🎉@annieb9123See it on YouTubeMe and my wife traveled from Milwaukee to Atlanta to see Ali just to find out y'all got the exact same birthday and be blessed with a GREAT SHOW! I been telling my wife how great Ali was and showing her clips, she was like he's even more funny in person. Didn't know he been in the comedy game so long but he is the GOAT to me people! Not taking away from anyone else but he's the best!

The numbers
The unusual response was in the comments, rather than the views: Siddiq's Atlanta thank-you brought a much busier conversation than his typical Short.
