Primetime's voice booth supplies A24's new conversation piece

Skyler Gisondo and Austin Abrams add a podcast double bill, while Chris Rock joins The List for Misty Green.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

What catches the ear in A24's latest Primetime excerpt? For several commenters, it's the voice: comparisons to Chris Hansen sit alongside a Whiplash reference and a nod to Toast of London's famously frustrating recording sessions.

"Primetime | VO Booth | A24" was the most-watched of the studio's five new uploads, reaching roughly 104,000 views. The companion excerpt "Primetime | Come In | A24" gave the film another spot on the slate, while Skyler Gisondo and Austin Abrams supplied two podcast selections. One takes its title from a whale-related choice between Primetime and Whalefall; the other features Abrams discussing Gisondo's performance.

Misty Green had its own introduction through "Chris Rock, Rosalind Eleazar & Daniel Kaluuya | A24 x Letterboxd: The List." Rock wrote and directed the film, whose ensemble also includes Adam Driver, Anna Kendrick and Topher Grace.

The largest current draw, though, remains the trailer for Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim's documentary You Can See Everything. It has passed 17 million views and is drawing substantially more daily viewing than any of the new uploads. A24 added subscribers over the week, although daily channel views are running below their usual level. Nearby, Amazon MGM Studios is having a particularly busy spell.

Oppenheim also connects that documentary to a gentler corner of A24's catalog: he directed Phoebe Bridgers' Cherry Lane Theatre Sound Check. That performance remains among the channel's busiest uploads, with Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker joining Bridgers for "Haunted" and "Lost Boys."
