Mystery Hermit, six months on, keeps Zedaph's guessing game alive
With no new uploads, the Hermitcraft quiz that asks viewers to name a player from gameplay alone sits beside a live StoneWards session with the ZITS.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Mystery Hermit! Can you Guess who's playing?!?
Posted back in April, "Mystery Hermit! Can you Guess who's playing?!?" is still the video Zedaph's viewers reach for first. The idea is simple and very Hermitcraft: watch someone play and work out which member of the server it is from their habits alone. On a server where builders are known as much by their style as by their skins, that is a fair test of how closely people have been watching.
Right behind it is something much newer. "A Merry Band of Dwarves!!! w/ The ZITS!" is a nine-day-old live session of StoneWards with the group of the title: Zedaph alongside Impulse, Tango and Skizz, billed in the description as another chance to get stuck in a hole. Further down, his Season 11 card game, played by Etho, Joel and Bdubs, keeps picking up a few viewers; the description says the game, called Overstock, is due in December.
Nothing new went up, and the channel ran slower than its usual pace, with the subscriber count holding at 345,000. Among the Minecraft creators nearest his size, the big weeks belong to Johnny World and BeckBroJack Movies, while SB737 Reacts is running well above its own norm. For Zedaph, who describes his channel as Minecraft played "differently," it was a week of letting older ideas do the talking.
