Tom's pirate storytelling gives The Yogscast a Clocktower twist

Lewis takes a player's seat alongside ZombieCleo and Kirsty in a five-upload week heavy on deduction.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

The Magician, the Witch and the Curse - Blood on the Clocktower in Minecraft

The Yogscast gave Lewis a turn on the other side of the mystery, with Tom running its latest Minecraft game of Blood on the Clocktower. "The Magician, the Witch and the Curse - Blood on the Clocktower in Minecraft" was the week's most-watched new upload, reaching about 131,000 views.

The Sea of Secrets script brings Magician confusion for ZombieCleo and Kirsty, plus a Witch's curse that finds its target. But viewers have another preoccupation: Tom's pirate speech and his noisy entrances through doors. Several ask for more guest Storytellers so Lewis can spend more time as a player. It's a particular pleasure of this format, seeing the person who usually manages the secrets having to work them out instead.

Deduction also connects two other releases. "The video ends when Boba loses | Gmod TTT" builds its premise around Boba becoming unusually difficult to stop. Then Lewis and Boba try Dupery in "The ultimate training course to Get Good at Social Deduction Games FAST". That is a promotional showcase for a Yogscast Games title, a solo deduction roguelite set in a noir city, with suspects to investigate and a reputation to protect. It currently draws the most daily views of any upload on the channel.

Away from suspicious townsfolk, "MadLibs, but Osie can't hear a thing!" offers a clip from a members' video and is the next-busiest upload by daily views. "Briony and Kirsty adopt a Demon Baby" completes the week's lineup.

Subscribers held steady, while daily viewing is roughly half again above its usual level. Nearby variety-gaming channels had larger weekly viewing totals, including DashieGames and WILDCAT, but The Yogscast's freshest source of momentum is its own training exercise in spotting liars.

I love that there's absolutely zero context for why Tom's talking in pirate speak for the whole game and no one questions it

Tom is a great storyteller and it gives us the treat of Lewis as a player. It could be nice to have guest story tellers every so often so we get Lewis as a player more. Good job everyone, another great episode!

I love that Tom when he’s story teller has a theme with his wording of things, first a court case now a fishing tale 😂

The double door busting at Osie's house night one had me DYING. This was a fun one, cool to see everyone work things out at the end!

Lewis as a player is such a delight. He takes it very seriously, plays very capable, but is clearly fallible which keeps in the level of the others. Super fun to see him play.
