Elizabeth Holmes, a Nathan Fielder meme and a call for 2027 interns

The paper's one new upload opens its internship applications, with a deadline of noon Eastern on October 9.

Washington Post Universe posted a single video over the week, and it was a job ad. "WE'RE HIRING INTERNS FOR 2027" announces that applications for next year's internship class are open until noon Eastern on October 9. It found more than 33,000 viewers in its first day.

The comment section went its own way. Many viewers set the hiring call beside the paper's own staffing news, and others fixated on the pay. One person simply asked whether interns get to take the unsold newspapers home.

The video carrying the channel is older. "Elizabeth Holmes is everywhere AGAIN ??", posted about two weeks ago, is closing in on a million views. The description traces the Theranos founder's sudden return to everyone's feeds to a meme from "You Can See Everything," a documentary it credits to Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim. A three-week-old explainer on the Supreme Court blocking new mail ballot restrictions before the midterms is still drawing viewers too.

Overall, the channel ran well below its usual daily views and finished the week about a thousand subscribers lighter. Most news channels close to its size were also below their normal pace. The Daily Beast had the busiest week in that group. For a newspaper with only one new video out, a job posting turned out to be the thing people most wanted to talk about.
