Viva La Dirt League's lazy adventurer gets reading tips
The sketch's unread journal has commenters proposing shortcuts, while one viewer actually paused to read the pages.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 540,749 views a day, 8.8 times a normal first day on this channel (61,398).
Too lazy, not reading comments either
One viewer paused the pages. Others suggested giving the book to the prisoner, which would rather neatly solve Viva La Dirt League's latest fantasy-game predicament without making its adventurer do any homework.
In "Too lazy, not reading comments either", a captive needs rescuing before orc reinforcements arrive. The code to his cage is hidden in an orc mage's journal. Unfortunately, his would-be rescuer opens it and discovers backstory instead of an immediately usable answer.
"This isn't a code. This is a frickin' lore dump," the adventurer says. The book contains five pages, but he would much rather skip to the end and let the quest log supply the important bit.
As we reported here, required reading was already the troupe's latest quest obstacle. Now the Short has drawn roughly 540,000 views in its first day, almost nine times its usual Shorts start, and the comments have become a collection of alternative solutions.
Some suggest scanning for emphasized words or trying every possible code. Another points out that avoiding the reading takes longer than simply doing it. A Skyrim reader, meanwhile, recognizes the opposite habit: opening every book the game offers.
The most fitting response comes from the viewer who stopped the action to read the journal and wished more of its text had been visible. The adventurer wants less lore; that viewer wants the missing pages.

Truth be told, I paused the screen on each page so I could read it and was a little bummed they didn't show the rest of the text. 😅
