A fusion dragon from Alola, and four PokeTubers on the clock

Level 7 of United Plays' strongest-fusion series has passed 675,000 views in 17 days, on a week with nothing new posted.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

No new uploads went up on United Plays this week, so the channel leaned on a dragon it built in September.

"I Created The Most Powerful Pokemon from Alola" is level 7 of a series with a simple, slightly cruel premise. United Plays fuses an original dragon from Pokemon Sun & Moon into something monstrous, then hands four fellow PokeTubers 15 minutes to catch a team that can take it down. A hint unlocks every three minutes, and whoever beats the dragon in the fewest rounds wins. Seventeen days in, it is close to 680,000 views and still the busiest video on the channel by a long way.

Its older sibling is still around too. The Kalos edition, level 6, where Patterrz and Vintendo faced AstroidmaniaVideos and DonShnack, is nearly a year old and still finds a few hundred viewers a day. A starter-picking game from last November, with one fusion hidden among the choices and Vintendo along again, gets about twice that.

Without anything new to watch, the week was slow. Daily views are running well under half their usual level, and the subscriber count did not move. Among the strategy and role-playing channels close to its size, only PythonGB added fewer views. PragMagik had the busiest week in that group, and Rimmy Downunder is running about three times its normal pace. United Plays, meanwhile, still has its Alola dragon waiting for challengers.
