A dream R34 GTR, finished, and a Porsche GT3 laid to rest
The Skyline build passed a quarter of a million views in five days, while the GT3 farewell drew over 40,000 in its first five hours.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Finally Finished My Dream R34 GTR!
Five hours old, and "Rest In Peace, My Porsche GT3..." had already gathered more than 40,000 views. The title keeps its secret behind those three dots, and Tj Hunt's audience clearly wanted to know what happened to the car.
The week really belongs to the Nissan, though. "Finally Finished My Dream R34 GTR!" went up on September 25 and closes a long chapter. The R34 Skyline GT-R is the car a generation of enthusiasts first drove in Gran Turismo and watched in 2 Fast 2 Furious. It opened strongly and is still the busiest thing on the channel, well ahead of the AirJacks install on his Vantage GT3 and "Stealing a Car From BigTime...", both from the week before. A third upload, a short look at the future of car auctions tagged with Tanner and Co. and Exotic Knights Orlando, is only just getting going.
Overall the channel ran well below its usual daily pace, and subscribers held steady. Plenty of car channels were in the same soft spot, Vice Grip Garage and VINwiki among them. Speed Bump Garage was the one busier than normal.
