A day after the podcast's episode asking "Is there really hope again?" opened at around eleven times its normal pace, The News Agents came back to the same man with a bigger question. "Did Andy Burnham just deliver one of the great political speeches?" passed 100,000 views in eleven hours. That puts it on course for roughly twenty times what a new upload here usually gathers on its first day.

The rest of the channel was not along for the ride. Its overall daily views were running below their usual level, and most of the political commentary channels around it were quiet too. Pivot with Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway and MoveOn were both well under their normal pace.

The title is a question, not a verdict, and it gives the episode its hook. Burnham, a former Labour cabinet minister who became Mayor of Greater Manchester in 2017, has twice run for his party's leadership. The show, fronted by Emily Maitlis, Jon Sopel and Lewis Goodall, has now given him two episodes in two days, and the second is moving much faster than the first.
