Egg-white elephant toothpaste keeps TheDadLab foaming past three billion
No new uploads from Sergei, so a kitchen-staples take on a classic foam experiment, posted almost ten months ago, is doing the work.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The EASIEST Elephant Toothpaste Experiment Ever (Even Toddlers Can Do It!)
More than three billion lifetime views sit behind TheDadLab, Sergei's channel of science experiments to try at home with his two boys, Alex and Max. Nothing new went up this week, and the back catalog carried on without him.
The busiest video is a workaround. Classic elephant toothpaste needs hydrogen peroxide and yeast, which not every kitchen has, so Sergei swaps them for egg whites, baking soda, vinegar and food coloring. The description pitches it as safe enough for toddlers, and it ends with a three-color version. Close to ten months old, it is near 285,000 views and still finding people every day.
Behind it comes another twist on a famous fizz. Instead of dropping Mentos into cola, the family tests baking soda, sand, salt and liquid soap to see which one comes closest. Third is a paper brainteaser from the same season: passing a CD through a hole smaller than the disc, with a tutorial for making the template.
Among the science channels nearest it in size, TheDadLab is fourth by subscribers, with Real Engineering right beside it. NileBlue and Be Smart are the ones running above their usual pace right now, while Steve Mould and Practical Engineering are a little quieter. TheDadLab's own week stays in the kitchen, where the foam is.
