Narnia: The Magician's Nephew - Official Trailer - Only In Cinemas February 11

Magic rings, not a wardrobe, carry the children into other worlds in this take on Narnia's beginnings. Sony Pictures Releasing UK's upload of "Narnia: The Magician's Nephew - Official Trailer - Only In Cinemas February 11" reached roughly 160,000 views in its first ten hours, far beyond the channel's usual start for videos of this length.

Despite the title's wording, this is a concept trailer, presented as a Greta Gerwig adaptation of C. S. Lewis's novel. Its director credits and release-date cards are part of that presentation.

The adventure starts with Digory and Polly investigating Uncle Andrew's experiments. A hidden study and a magic ring lead them to the Wood between the Worlds, where portals open onto other realms. Then Digory strikes a bell despite Polly's warning, awakening a sorceress whose arrival brings chaos to London.

For readers familiar chiefly with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, this is a different doorway into Lewis's world: the story of Narnia's creation rather than a return to an already enchanted kingdom.

The comments dwell on the trailer's rock-and-roll tone, with comparisons to Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: Ragnarok. Others pick out the contrast between gray London and vivid Narnia, or the wooded passage between worlds. The closing image gives them another specific talking point: Aslan roaring cosmic light into existence.

What viewers say

Aslan roaring the universe into existence, is really freaking cool I’ll admit.

The wood between worlds looks SO good
@DreaOnzagleSee it on YouTube
you can tell they’re gonna have insane attention to detail with color grading in this movie. The drab, gray city juxtaposed to the loud, colorful Narnia is really cool.
