Beer isn't much of a defense against Michael Myers, but SMii7Y tries diplomacy anyway. Standing in the street, he offers the masked killer a refreshment and a proposal: "Peace treaty. I got beer. You want beer?"

That is the level of survival planning in "Hunting Down My Friends For Halloween," a multiplayer horror outing that drew roughly 730,000 views in its first nine hours. Posted on the stream-highlights channel SMii7Yplus, the video edits together footage from SMii7Y's own Twitch broadcasts, with sovi, daukey, Yumi and Grizzy joining the private matches.

Getting everyone into Haddonfield took longer than expected. SMii7Y says a private-match voice-chat issue needed a month to be fixed, and the edit marks the interruption with an on-screen "LITERALLY ONE MONTH LATER." For a group whose running conversation supplies so much of the entertainment, that is a fairly consequential broken feature.

Once underway, the players alternate between survivors and Michael Myers. There are residents to rescue, police to call and an escape car to repair. SMii7Y's first instinct on spotting Myers at a house's front entrance is rather simpler: jump out of an upstairs window.

The survivors aren't always defenseless. SMii7Y returns as an armed police officer, and the group manages to knock Myers down on a front lawn. Viewers are debating whether survivors should have that much power, while another recurring talking point is sovi's laugh, which one viewer mistook for part of the game's audio. The voice chat, at least, is doing its job.
