Six young wingfoilers from the UAE take over SailGP's channel

A week-long SailGP Inspire program in Portsmouth, run with Mubadala, had the young riders training alongside the Brazil team's athletes.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

One video carried it. Of the fifteen uploads SailGP posted over the week, the Future Flyers Wingfoil Program film passed half a million views inside two days, while nearly everything else stayed in the thousands.

The film comes from the days before the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix in Portsmouth. SailGP Inspire and Mubadala brought six young participants and two coaches from the United Arab Emirates for a week of wingfoiling, training next to athletes from the Mubadala Brazil team. The description ties it to the season's ending: the Grand Final is set for Abu Dhabi, and this is part of the groundwork there.

The rest of the week leaned on the racing itself. There were drone shots of the F50s flying over Portsmouth and a 201 episode on the flight controller, the crew member who keeps the boat stable on its T-foils at more than 100 km/h. Olympic silver medalist Lisa Darmanin and Stevie Morrison ranked every team with two events left. A highlights reel of the best European races, starting with Germany and going on through Great Britain, Spain and Switzerland, was also getting a steady stream of viewers in its first day.

Subscribers held steady, and the channel's daily pace sits well below its usual level for now. Even so, among the sports channels closest to its size, SailGP drew the second most views of the week, behind only the World Poker Tour.
