The Plane That's 38% Nose

Real Engineering posted one video, and it had a title built to make people click: "The Plane That's 38% Nose." It went up on Saturday and opened fast, then kept a good share of that speed into its second day. It is now nearing nine hundred thousand views.

Behind it, the gap is wide. "The Forbidden Alloy of WW2," posted almost three months ago and well past three million views, is still drawing a steady crowd, just at roughly a tenth of the new plane's current pace. The StarCloud whitepaper reading from the same stretch of summer keeps ticking along, far quieter.

The channel as a whole is moving at exactly its usual pace, and subscribers keep arriving at a healthy clip. Among the science channels around it, only NileBlue is pulling a similar number of daily views, with PBS Space Time next and the rest well behind. Real Engineering sits third by subscribers in that company, and it did not need more than one upload to hold its place.
