A gun made of soap joins onca's animated tales
The storytelling channel added about 91,000 subscribers in seven days, with an unlikely weapon among its latest hooks.
Why this story? The channel went from 721,000 to 812,000 subscribers this week.
Soap is an unlikely material for a weapon, but it is the premise of an onca animation that has reached roughly 2.7 million views since its Thursday release. It sits alongside a building-climb rescue story in a lineup built around extraordinary situations.
The channel's subscriber total grew by more than a tenth over seven days. That weekly gain comes with a quieter day for watching, however: daily views are running at about an eighth of their usual pace. The strong subscription week and the viewing slowdown are different parts of the picture.
These are animated stories, not footage of the events their titles describe. onca says its writers, voice actors and animators build each video, mixing everyday-life inspirations with original fiction. The soap-gun upload puts the emphasis on an improbable object; the building-climb title takes the more direct route of a rescue.
