Manti Te'o buys into the 4-0 Vikings on Good Morning Football

Kyler Murray's new security blanket, by Te'o's account, is T.J. Hockenson, who caught 13 passes against Miami.

More than double. On an ordinary day NFL Network's back catalog and new clips draw about 73,000 views, and right now the channel is running at well over twice that, with fifteen uploads in the week to keep it fed.

The most watched of them puts Manti Te'o on the Vikings' side. The former Notre Dame linebacker, now a regular on Good Morning Football alongside Sam Acho and Kyle Brandt, argues that Minnesota's unbeaten start is real and that Kyler Murray has found someone to lean on. The comment section is mostly Vikings country. Many viewers keep returning to the moment T.J. Hockenson slid down short of the goal line to run out the clock against the Dolphins, and they debate whether that choice shows a team doing whatever it takes. Others point to the defense and special teams, and a few long-time fans admit they have learned not to get their hopes up.

The quickest riser came a day later. Steve Mariucci joined Rhett Lewis on GameDay Final to react to the Falcons' 45-24 rout of the Saints on Monday Night Football, and that clip is gathering views faster than anything else on the channel. NFL Total Access is close behind, with John Harbaugh's comments on J.J. McCarthy's role for the Giants.

Among similar sports channels, the big daily numbers belong to clip outfits like Fuzzy and D1 Kuumo, while Sports Illustrated and NHL on ESPN are holding steady. NFL Network added about a thousand subscribers on the week, but no channel near its size changed pace as sharply.

  • Vikings fan.....but gotta say that old Lions logo was epic
  • A big part of the reason the Vikes are 4-0 is also the special teams. They've been operating at a really high level, good coverage, return TD, blocked field goal, Reichert hasn't missed.
