Spurs kids in the 90s and Gerrard's 2014 medal: NathanConnorTV rewrites football

Six comedy shorts went up, from a Tottenham shirt gag past 1.2 million views to a Micah Richards quiz that started faster than anything else on the channel.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

NathanConnorTV spent his week doing what his channel does best: taking a football story everyone knows and bending it just slightly out of shape. Six shorts went up, and the most watched of them, "90s Tottenham Kids Getting Their First Shirt," has passed 1.2 million views.

The Spurs joke landed where his jokes usually land, in the comments. Viewers point out that he rarely misses a chance to tease Tottenham and Arsenal, a self-described Spurs fan says he disowns the character too, and a long thread argues over whether Blackburn and Villa really had more pull in the 90s. One line, "if you can't beat them, join them," keeps getting quoted back.

The rest of the week was a tour of alternate histories. Steven Gerrard finally gets a 2014 Premier League medal, the title Liverpool let slip that spring. Messi signs for Manchester City in 2021 instead of Paris Saint-Germain. Ronaldo leaves Portugal, and City wait out their appeal. The newest, "How Smart Is Micah Richards?", aimed at the former City defender turned cheerful pundit, is gathering views faster than anything else he has, less than a day after going up.

Older work is still busy too: a ten-day-old Leicester City fan from 2016 trying FC27 sits close to four million views.

The channel ran well below its usual daily pace, yet still added about 17 million views and 6,000 subscribers over the week. That is the third biggest gain among the football creators close to his size, with OzanB Goalkeeper having by far the biggest week and Shea Woodsford also busy.
