Opening Google Docs shouldn't be the comic highlight of a phone review. Yet the app's awkward showing on the iPhone Duo has viewers of Mrwhosetheboss returning to that reveal in the comments, alongside questions about Touch ID and the black bars around video.
"iPhone Duo is Messier Than You Think" drew roughly 3.6 million views in its first 16 hours, making it the most-watched of Arun Maini's two uploads this week. His central point is practical: unfolding a bigger screen doesn't automatically make everything better. Widescreen videos gain little over the iPhone 18 Pro Max because of letterboxing, and app layouts vary considerably in how well they use the space.
There are worthwhile gains, too. Arun praises the display's anti-reflective finish, finds the rear cameras useful for selfies and concludes that battery life isn't a problem. But folded-state heat, the missing telephoto camera and cumbersome handling complicate the purchase. The review includes a sponsored segment for a Torras case. For newcomers choosing between this foldable and a Pro model, he favors the conventional phone.
The companion upload, "6 ways iPhone Duo beats Samsung," gives the same week's coverage a more favorable counterpoint. Both new videos are the channel's busiest uploads right now, while "I tested the most Futuristic Tech - it scared me." continues attracting substantial daily viewing.
Across the week, the channel added about 22 million views while its subscriber count stayed unchanged. That puts its weekly viewing below Marques Brownlee and Kyle Krueger, but above Linus Tech Tips among the nearby gadget channels. Here, though, the most memorable test isn't a benchmark: it's whether an ordinary document feels at home on an extraordinary screen.
