We Tested Every "Designer" Food

One video, plenty of reach. AJ Shabeel's food channel posted a single upload this week, "We Tested Every "Designer" Food," with Chunkz of Beta Squad beside him for a tasting of luxury-branded snacks. It drew about a quarter of a million views on its first day and is now past 645,000.

The comments have their own running joke. Many of the most liked ones open politely, call the video cool, and then ask whether everyone saw Kenny in a Beta Squad video about guessing which country snacks come from. That is Kenny of Beta Squad, who was AJ's guest a few weeks earlier in "We Tried Fast Foods Unhealthiest Items", a video now past one and a half million views. Viewers who did stay on topic point to a Chunkz impression around the six-minute mark, a stretch where the two feed each other, and Chunkz getting upset over money that isn't even his. Another viewer wants Beta Squad to play mafia with a psychologist reading everyone's behavior.

The channel ran faster than its usual pace, with well over a million views across the seven days. Among the food channels nearest its size, Big Nibbles and ahnestkitchen are having the busier weeks, while Jeff Harris and Spirit of Cake are running a little ahead of their own norms. For More Aj, the summer's knock-off food test with Niko is still picking up a few thousand views a day.
